Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 12:00pm at Riverbend Baptist Church. Bro. Kyle Sullivan, Paul Stapleton, and David Johnson will officiate.
Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Shaw was born on July 25, 1936, in Southside, Alabama to the parents of Earl and Roxie Johnson.
She attended Southside High School, and married in 1953. She became a beautician and the owner of Helen’s Beauty Shop. She was a charter member of Riverbend Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian, she loved her Lord, and her church family. She sang the praises of Jesus everywhere she went.
Mrs. Shaw was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Earl and Roxie Johnson and
her father and mother-in-law, James and Edna Shaw.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by her husband of 65 years, George T. Shaw.
Daughter, Vicki (Mike) Conyer; grandson, Andrew, (Hannah) Conyer; great-grandson, Warner Todd Conyer; brother, David (Juanita) Johnson , Sister, Ramona (Sam) Nash; Nephews, David Johnson, Jr., Patrick (Stephanie) Nash, Gregory (Zoya) Johnson, Jonathan (Candice) Johnson;
Niece, Teresa (Richard) Daniels. Special friend and chosen daughter, Angela Bledsoe. Several great nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Conyer, David Johnson, Jr. Patrick Nash, Jonathan Johnson, Tony McGlaughn, and Tim Choate.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Dr. Thomas Harper, Dr. Richard Caldwell, Dr. Luis Urbina, Tommy Hughes,
Whorton Bend Fire Department, and Riverbend Baptist Church.
Special thanks to her caregivers Rose Cain, Brittany Nesbitt, and Alacare Hospice.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Riverbend Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 10:00am until 12:00pm prior to service at the church.
