
Celebration of the life of Herbert Malvin Cochran, 86, of Gadsden, AL, will be Friday, August 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Collier-Butler Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Reverend Larry Garrard and Reverend Abel Garcia will officiate. Herbert died August 23, 2016 in Gadsden, AL. Interment will be at Black Creek Cemetery.
Herb was born to Oscar and Mamie Cochran, December 19, 1929, in Gadsden, AL. Herb loved the Lord and served him faithfully. The most important thing in his life was his family, and he always surrounded himself with family and friends. He was a member and former Deacon Chairman of White Springs Baptist Church. Among the things of which he was most proud was his service in the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Mamie Cochran, and brothers, Grady, Albert, and Calvin, and grandson, Adam Keith Cochran.
Herb is survived by his wife, Annie Jo Cochran; son, Herbert Keith (Teresa) Cochran; daughter, DeAnna Mobley; grandchildren, Dana (Todd) Teague, Micah Cochran, Leah and Lora Mobley, Amy (Stephen) Dewey and Wendy Hyche; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Clay and Wesly Teague, Corbin Lynn and Cambrie Jo Dewey; sister Ruby McBroom.
Pallbearers will be Calvin Sanders, Ronnie Bone, Wayne Watwood, Steve Helms, Stanley Adams and Phillip Sitz.
Although flowers will be accepted, he requested donations be made to the Salvation Army.
