

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at Collier-Butler Parlor for Imelda "Mel" Beasley, 69, of Rainbow City, who passed away Monday, Jan. 29, 2018. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mel was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. She worked over 20 years in real estate, where she loved helping people in buying and selling their homes. When her health allowed, she attended East Gadsden Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil R. and Dorothy Mae Dorsett; sister, Shelia Hulsey; and infant son.
Mel is survived by her daughter, Amy B. Collins; son, Steven Beasley; grandchildren, Alex Collins, Caroline Collins, Hunter Beasley and Brock Beasley; brother, Dr. Cecil (Dr. Barbara) Dorsett; sister, Cecilia (Ralph) Whitt; brother-in-law, Ron Hulsey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family requests no flowers.
