

Iris Cordelia (Stewart) Ruth, 92, has gone to be with the Lord. Iris grew up in Gadsden, but lived much of her life in central Florida where she had an active Christian life, raising her three sons, and working in the aerospace industry. She was a graduate of Etowah High School, where she was a member of the EHS marching band. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 2009 where she taught ladies Sunday school class. Cordelia, as most of her family knew her, loved gardening and crafts, but most of all sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years James William Ruth, her parents Mitchell and Cleva Dell Stewart, brother, Alan Stewart, sisters-in-law, Mona Crim Stewart, Sylvia Bishop Stewart, and Brenda Vann Stewart, and brother-in-law, Frank Ramsey. She is survived by three sons and their spouses: James and Anne Ruth, Steven and Sandra Ruth and Jon and Betty Ruth, five grandchildren and two great-grandsons along with brothers and sisters and spouses, Lunette Dempsey Stewart, Tom Stewart, Bill Stewart, Glennell Ramsey, Delsie and Jerrell Yother, Don and Connie Stewart and many nieces and nephews.
