Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for James Freeman Butler, 89, who passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Butler was a loving father and a veteran of World War II. He was a retired MIllright at Republic Steel.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margie Payne Butler; and grandchildren, Eric and Amy Smith.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly Butler (Alan) Lumpkin, and Cheryl Butler (John) Parrish; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Col. Robert L. Howard; the State Veterans Home; his caregivers; and Unit 2200.
The family will accept friends from 11:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
