James Davis Hamilton

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. James Davis Hamilton, 66, Gadsden who passed away Friday, August 31, 2012. Pastor Rick Blythe will officiate with eulogy given by brother-in-law, Numan Warren. Burial at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.

Mr. Hamilton was a native and lifelong resident of Gadsden. He was a born again Christian and retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, where his friends called him "Pierre", after 32 years of service. Mr. Hamilton served seven years in the National Guard 152nd Division Head Quarters Company. Those preceding him in death were his parents, William David Hamilton and Bonnie Edna Hamilton, brother, Hugh Don Hamilton, sisters, Doris June Hamilton, Mary Nell Hamilton, Bertie Ruth Martin and Bobbie Jean Chumley.

Survivors include his loving wife, Phyllis Warren Hamilton

Children, David Hamilton, Phillip Scott Hamilton, Warren (Awdrey) Hamilton, Todd (Lori) Hamilton and Heather Hamilton (Shaun) Stephens, grandchildren, Alex Hamilton, Allison Hamilton, Madison Hamilton, Macey Hamilton, Eddie Hamilton, Trevor Hamilton, Trenton Hamilton, Molly Hamilton and Sonny James Stephens, sister, Carol (Phil) Petty, brother, Taylor (Frankie) Hamilton, several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be, David Hamilton, Warren Hamilton, Todd Hamilton, Shaun Stephens, Phil Petty and Numan Warren.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Phillip Scott Hamilton, Taylor Hamilton, Alex Hamilton, Eddie Hamilton, Trevor Hamilton and Trenton Hamilton.

The family extends a special thanks to Carol and Frankie, Nita Phillips, Dorothy Rials, Alanna Bates, Bill and Mary Kinzer and Pastor Billy Boatwright.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
