James "Jim" Edward Lee

Memorial visitation will be from 5:00-8:00-p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for James “Jim” Edward Lee, age 73, of Hokes Bluff who passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Jim Lee was a Loving Husband of more than 54 years, Father of Four, Brother to Six, Grandfather to Four, and Great Grandfather to One.

After his service in the United States Marine Corps in 1964, Jim became a successful Entrepreneur. Jim was founder of MARAELLA Winery and Vineyards in 2005; Founder of Learning Systems Unlimited in 1972; Co-Founder of LST in 1992 and Co-Founder of CybrTyme in 1995.

Jim was a believer in positive thought and positive action, he arose each day with thanks and excitement about the opportunity the new day would bring. His dedication to family was every day and exhibited by his and his wife’s (Sandra) care-taking of their son Greg for almost 31 years after Greg suffered a head injury in a car accident in 1985.

Jim loved sports, an avid golf fan – he conquered a bucket list item in 2010 by attending all 4 of the Majors. Jim bled Crimson and White every football Saturday from the time he first heard a Bama game on the radio. Jim was very proud of coaching Little League Baseball in Hokes Bluff from 1973 to 1979.

Jim serviced his community of Hokes Bluff with Pride and Dedication. A Graduate of Hokes Bluff (1960), he has sought to bring economic opportunities to the community since returning in 1967.

Jim was preceded in death by His Son Tim Lee (2010), Father John Chester Lee, Mother Jennie Lou Franklin Lee and Sister Carolyn Lee Williams.

Jim is survived by his Spouse of 54+ years Sandra Mae Pentecost Lee; Sons – Scott, Greg, John (Kelli Childs); Granddaughters – Jessika Lee (Justin) Miller, Savannah Lee, Bella Lee, Anna Lee, Morgan Phillips ; Great Granddaughter – Lee Caroline Miller; Brothers - Tom (Janice) Lee, Bob (Annelle) Lee, John Lee; Sisters – Martha (Dan) Acker, Nancy Lee

The family asks in preference to flowers please make donations to Alabama Head Injury Foundation and/or the UAB Hematology-Oncology Clinic.

Special thanks to Jane Lee for being the daughter he always wanted, Dr. Garcia, Dr. Erba, Dr. McGwier, Dr. Robinson, all the nurses on 7 south GRMC, staff at UAB Hematology-Oncology Clinic, staff Gadsden Cancer Center.
