Memorial services for Mr. James Harold "Jim" Patton, 78, of Gadsden, will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Jerry T. Meeks will officiate. Anyone is welcome to speak of their friendship or funny tales of time spent with him during his lifetime during the memorial service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the memorial service until 5:30 p.m. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mr. Patton passed away on Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013.
Harold never met a stranger. He loved to tell jokes and tall tales, and had a passion for poetry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Vera Patton; sister, Mary Jo Patton; and brothers, Thomas and Charles Patton.
He is survived by his wife, Paula Kay Patton; sons, Adrian (Julie) Patton and Christian Patton; stepson, Tony Barnwell; grandsons, Zachary Patton, A.J. Patton, Evan Meeks, Zachary Acton, Kyler Patton, Collin Barnwell; sisters, Betty O'Dell and Carol Patton; sister-in-law, Barbara Patton; and several nieces and nephews.
