

Jane Robinson Cobb, 90, of Gadsden, Alabama, passed away August 27, 2016. She was born November 16, 1925 in West Palm Beach, Florida to John Roland Robinson and Jane Dozier Robinson, but grew up in Ashville, Alabama, and spent virtually her entire adult life in Gadsden.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Gadsden dentist, Dr. Bill J. Cobb, as well as by her beloved son, Ray Spearman Cobb, and her two brothers, John, Jr., and Judge Charles Robinson.
Survivors include her daughter, Robin Swann (Jack) of Guntersville, her son, Pete Cobb (Sally) of Montgomery, and her sister, Ann Helms of Montevallo. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Mollie Gargis (Myron), Andy Swann, Spearman Cobb (Jordan), Pierce Cobb, Drew Sullivan (Lauren) and Hoke Turner Sullivan, as well as her four great-grandchildren, Lynley, Maggie, Simmons and Spears.
The family will greet friends at visitation from 5:30 PM until 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 30, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. A private service and burial will take place on Wednesday, August 31, with Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
The family would like to express their thanks to Bill Lester, David Lester and the staff and nurses of Gadsden Health and Rehab Center, to Dr. Vicente Torregosa, and to Southern Care Hospice and Robin Bolin, for their loving-kindness, attentiveness, and care shown to our mother throughout.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made through contributions to either First Baptist- Gadsden’s “Embrace the Future” fund or the charitable organization of one’s choice.
