Jeannette D. Estes

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 48 years, Ray Estes; daughters, Jennifer Estes Gordon (Phillip Saffels), Angela Estes Ganshaw (Matt Ganshaw), Heather Estes, and Tammy Estes; grandchildren, Kaily Gordon, Grant Gordon, Gavin Hill, Bryce Ganshaw, Maya Estes, Elyse Ganshaw, Sasha Tidwell (John Tidwell) and Lacey Smith; great grandsons, Andrew and Hunter Tidwell; brother, Jimmy Dunn (Darlene Dunn); chosen sister, Paula Dennis; brother in law, Danny Estes(Laura Isbell).

Jeannette was preceded in death by her father, Herman Dunn and mother, Ruth Venable Grey.

Jeannette was born in Scottsboro, AL where she worked as a hairdresser for many years. While she was a talented hairdresser, her true calling was to be loving wife, mother, and nana to the family that meant the most to her. A lover of the beach, she never turned down the opportunity to get away to the Gulf Coast, this was truly her happy place. Above all else, Jeannette enjoyed spending time with her family and was never afraid to start her Christmas shopping in July. Her mother's intuition was strong and she always knew how to comfort and offer words of wisdom to her girls. She loved being a nana and took enormous joy in being involved in her grandchildren's lives. Her faith in God guided her and she was always thinking of others. She offered help to anyone who needed her. She was like a second mom to so many, and always had an open door and warm smile for all of her bonus children. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A memorial visitation for Jeannette will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Collier-Butler Chapel, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
