

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Jerry Leslie Davis, 70, Gadsden who passed away Monday, January 31, 2012. Rev. Curtis Scott will officiate with burial at Mt. Lookout Methodist Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.
Mr. Davis was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County retiring from Gulf States Steel with 40 years of service. He faithfully attended McCauley’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Davis was an avid outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Leslie and Ruth Means Davis and sister, Barbara Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Julia Easterwood Davis, brothers-in-law, Shelby Dean Miller, Lewis (Linda) Easterwood, nephews and niece, Jeff (Rachel) and Brian (Misty) Miller and Traci (Tim) Hamm, great nieces and great nephews, Taylor and Tanner Hamm, Ashlyn and Ethan Miller, special friends, Sandra McNew, Charlotte Smith and June Cromer.
Pallbearers will be, Tommy Lewis, Tanner Hamm, Thomas McNew, Mark Vaughn, Brian and Jeff Miller, Phenias Daugherty and Michael Sitz.
Honorary Pallbearers will be, Billy Cromer, Lane McNew, Cal Smith, Gene Thrasher, Perry Glenn, John Dovers, Bobby Martin, Hoyt Ramsey, Kenneth Farmer, George Duncan, Ronny Blackwell, cousins and all personal friends and members of McCauley’s Chapel United Methodist Church .
The family extends a very special thanks to the Black Creek Volunteer Fire Department.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to any favorite charity in Mr. Davis’ memory.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
