

Jerry "Red" Lasseter, 87, of Gadsden, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his children. He died after a lengthy battle with cancer. Collier-Butler Funeral Home will be in charge of services. Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 2, 2025. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 PM Wednesday, September 3, 2025. Graveside service is following. Brother Adam Smith will officiate chapel service, Dewayne Lasseter will have closing prayer, and Brother Allen Hudson will officiate graveside service.
Jerry was an active member of East Gadsden Baptist Church until the time of his death.
Jerry won the state 4-H competition in the electrical division as a senior in high school. He was employed with Goodyear tire and rubber company for 37 1/2 years.
He’s preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Sarah J. Lasseter. His parents, J.W. And Annie Lasseter. His father and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Gracie Jones. His brothers, Kent, Ronnie and Donnie Lasseter. His sister, Martha Dell Brown. His chosen brother, Bobby Hooper. His son-in-law, Randy Bobo. His daughter-in-law, April Lasseter.
He survived by his children; Stephanie (Wes) Warne, Sallie Lasseter, Sonya Bobo, Frederic (Michelle) Lasseter. Grandchildren; Jeremy (Hunter) Lasseter, Jordan Lasseter, CJ Warne, Elizabeth (Jesse) Greer, Peyton (Dillon) Tidmore. Great-Grandchildren; Cameron Lasseter, Brooklyn Lasseter, Carsten Lasseter, Emmett Bailey-Brown, Gray Tidmore. He is survived by his brother, Dewayne (Janice) Lasseter of Birmingham. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Special friend Billy Morrison.
Jerry was an avid Alabama Crimson Tide football fan and also an Atlanta Braves baseball fan. He love to watch golf on TV. He loved to hunt and fish.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Lasseter, Jordan Lasseter, CJ Warne, Dillon Tidmore, Jesse Greer, Hunter Grant.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cameron Lasseter, Brooklyn Lasseter, Carsten Lasseter, Emmett Bailey, Gray Tidmore.
Special thanks to Dr. Elquis Castillo and staff; Dr. Asif Kaleem and staff, Dr. Steven Sanders and Dr. Jarrod Warren, who so graciously gave loving care to our father and his last days.
