Joann Moore Work

Joann was born April 16, 1934. She was preceded in death by her father, Sidney Moore; mother, Annie Mel Moore; sister, Nancy Moore Garrett; son, James Edward Work; and daughter, Julie Ann Work.

Joann was a beautiful and talented lady. She played piano, and she was a fabulous decorator and a great salesperson. She had a green thumb and a yard to be envied. She enjoyed Alabama football. She was witty and full of spunk. She was also a strong woman, a fighter who never gave up. Her greatest quality was her unconditional love and dedication to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Jannie Chapman (Dr. William Chapman), Jennifer Farmer (Bobby Farmer); brother, Charles Moore (Patsy Moore); seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren, along with many nephews and nieces. We loved her, and she will be missed.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel. The family will receive friends from noon until the hour of service.
