

Funeral services to celebrate the life of John William McCullars, 80, of Rainbow City, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Collier Butler Funeral Home. Mr. McCullars peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023. Blake Jones will officiate the service, which will be followed by burial at Williams Southside Funeral Cemetery, under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
A devout member of Rainbow Church of Christ, Mr. McCullars held a special place in his heart for his church family. He retired after dedicating 36 years of his life to Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
Mr. McCullars is preceded in death by his father, John McCullars; mother, Martha Austin; and grandparents, Milton Medlin and Maggie Medlin, and John McCullars Sr. and Louise McCullars.
Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 57 years, Judy; his son, Scott (Paige) McCullars; his daughter, Kelli Williams; and his grandchildren, Sydney and Morgan McCullars, and Cole and Caitlin Williams. He also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends who will forever hold his memory dear.
Pallbearers for the service will include Bruce Phillips, Larry Naler, Tony Cleveland, Dennis Bullock, Tommy Hamrick, and Billy Ray Colvin.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to Rainbow Omega, 100 Hope Drive, Eastaboga, AL 36260, or the Building Fund of Rainbow Church of Christ, 2201 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901.
The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, prior to the service.
Johnny was a faithful Christian, a devoted father, a loving grandfather, and a great friend to many. His life was a source of inspiration and encouragement to those who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will be deeply missed by all who were touched by his warmth and kindness.
