Mr. John Richard McLester

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mr. John Richard McLester, Sr., age 72, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, December 30, 2010. Rev. Philip Elliott will officiate with burial to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Mr. McLester was a 1958 graduate of Emma Sansom and was employed with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 23 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Alonzo and Willie McLester; brother, Robert McLester; and sisters, Wynona Curtis and Edna Earl Urick.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cochran McLester; children, Mytesa Horton, Tanya (Paul) Davis, Richie (Brent) Tucker and John (Jennifer) McLester; grandchildren, Chris (Sarra) Horton, Ginger Horton, Olivia Kate Davis, Eric (Raechel) Hunt, Perry Hunt, Michaela Horton, Johna Tucker, Kellsey Tucker, Hazel McLester and Stella McLester; great grandchildren, Jaylen Horton, Phoenix Horton, Dallas Horton, Isabella Horton and Elijah Horton.

Pallbearers will be Paul Davis, Chris Horton, Eric Hunt, Perry Hunt, Brent Tucker and Stephen Curtis.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ray LeCroy, Melton Burgess, Jerry Graham and Dr. Todd Cross.

The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Todd Cross.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
