Joseph Francis Kelly, Jr., 74, of Atlanta, Georgia, formerly of Attalla, died Saturday Dec. 22, 2018. Joe was a graduate of Etowah High School & earned a B.A. in Communications from The University of Alabama. He was an entrepreneur & a product designer. The Football Slide Guide, The American Dream Game, and The Penny Exchange were among his most successful creations.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Frost Kelly of Attalla, and Joseph Francis Kelly, Sr. of Boston, Massachusetts. He is survived by his daughter Heather Kelly of Atlanta, & her loving mother Sue Monk Smith (Michael), cousins Janice Anne Kelly Belmonte and Eileen Frances Kelly Topor of Boston, Massachusetts and many close cousins, descendent of the Frost family.
Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 28 at 1:00 pm & the rite of Christian burial will begin at 2:00 pm at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Comforter in Gadsden . Father Carl Saxton will officiate & life long friend Bob Hundley will give the homily. Joe will be laid to rest following the service in Oak Hill Cemetery in Attalla. Pallbearers will be cousins Donald Rhea, The Honorable Judge Bill Rhea, Marvin Thomas, Richard Rhea and good friends Charles O’Rear, Conley O’Rear, Jamie O’Rear, & Randy Watts.
Joe will be deeply missed by family & friends, especially his daughter Heather.
