Katherine Louise Rhodes

Graveside services for Katherine Rhodes, 80, of Gadsden, will be at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2012, at Union Hill United Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Glenn Mize will officiate with Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing. Mrs. Rhodes passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012, at her home.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Jessie Mae Freeman; her husband, Frank Rhodes; and a son, Timothy Rhodes.

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her children, Shelby South, Nancy (James) Nash, Marvin (Ruth) Rhodes, Wesley Rhodes, Alvin (Cindy) Rhodes; daughter-in-law, Jill Smith; chosen daughter, Myra McDaniel; grandchildren, Joy (Cres) Underwood, April Butler, Melissa (C.J.) Gann, Mason Rhodes, Michael (Rena) Putman, Joseph Smith, Brad and Brent Hester, Ryan Kelly; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Sonny (Sarah) Freeman and Robert Freeman; sister, Geraldine Collins; sister-in-law, Icy Freeman; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Richard, Travis, William, Andy, and Heath Freeman, Walter Clanton, and Eddie Skelton.

Special thanks to the nurses and caregivers of Gadsden Regional Home Health and Hospice, especially Jennifer, Tonyea, and Donna. Also a special thanks to my great-granddaughter, Erin Underwood.

The family will receive friends on Monday, November 5, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services in Gadsden.
