Keith Wayne Brooks

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Collier-Butler Funeral home for Keith Wayne Brooks, age 58, of Birmingham, who passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017. Pastors, Randall Paul Smith and Larry D. Graham will officiate. Entombment will be at Forrest Mausoleum. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Brooks graduated from Southside High School in 1977. His college education began at Gadsden State Community College class of 1979 and continued on to Jacksonville State University class of 1984 and then to Jefferson State Community College where he graduated in 1991 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. Mr. Brooks was a gifted songwriter and piano player.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Wayne Brooks; and grandparents, Amburse, and Irene Brooks and Sam and Idell Elkins.

Mr. Brooks is survived by his daughter, Paige Brooks; son, Sam Brooks; son-in-law, Justin Love; grandson, Raylan Love; mother, Jean Watson; step-father, Max Watson; sister, Lorie Thornton; brother-in-law, Mike Thornton; niece, Loren (Matt) Richards and their children, Brooks and Charlie; nephew, Justin (Cari) Chandler and their children, Jax and Ellie; and step-brothers, Brance Watson, and Kent Watson.

Pallbearers will be Samuel F. Brooks, Reggie Stokes, Jeff Gladden, Justin Chandler, Mike Thornton, and Justin Love.

Honorary pallbearer will be Matthew Richards.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Saturday prior to the service.
