Memorial services will be Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church for Kellie McMeekin Shankles, who passed away Sunday, February 10, 2013. Father Gray Bean will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Kellie was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and later moved to Gadsden, AL. She loved her work in the ER at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital (now Riverview), where she worked for 33 years.
She is survived by her husband, James Shankles; son, Steve (Alanna) Shankles; daughter, Kathy (Rick) Westman; her sister Adrian Dominican Sister, Sister Diane McMeekin; and 8 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Saint James Catholic School, 700 Albert Rains Blvd. North Gadsden AL 35901.
