Mitchel graduated from Emma Sansom High School in 1963. He was a graduate of Snead State and University of Alabama Birmingham. He worked at the Steel Plant for 35 years.
Mitchel was a much loved husband, father, and pop. He was very active in youth sports for many years. He coached and impacted many young men and women.
Mitchel enjoyed playing golf with a group of special friends, playing his guitar, watching his grandchildren play sports and spending time with his family.
Mitchel is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay Lester Troup. He was also survived by two sons, Larry Troup, Kevin Troup and his spouse Holly Copeland Troup, grandchildren: Haley and Brady Troup.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Ina Mae Troup. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Charles Troup, Albert Troup, and Phillip Troup.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
