

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Lillian M. Clayton, 89, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016. Rev. Daniel Woodcock and Mr. Chris Cartrett will officiate. Burial will be at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Clayton was a member of Attalla First United Methodist Church. She was an avid Auburn Football fan. Mrs. Clayton enjoyed traveling, was an avid craftswoman and substitute teacher. She was a 1945 graduate of Emma Sansom High School and a lifelong resident of Etowah County.
Mrs. Clayton was preceded in death by her husband, E.V. “Gene” Clayton; son, Grady Clayton; parents, L.O. and Beecie Moon; and brother, Lee (Elaine) Moon.
She is survived by her sons, Blane (Laura) Clayton, and Barry (Lea Ann) Clayton; daughter, Janet Clayton (Tommy) White; grandchildren, Chad (Jennifer) Clayton, Emily (Steven) Gillum, Scott (Tiffany) Clayton, Lana (Brandon) Booker, Valerie White, and Shannon (Conner) Vervynckt; beloved great-grandchildren; brother, C.N. (Rita) Moon; sister-in-law, Betty Moon; nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bob and Millie Cartrett.
Pallbearers will be Chad Clayton, Scott Clayton, Brandon Booker, Steven Gillum, Craig Cartett, and Conner Vervynckt.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Attalla First United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
