Loyd Jester

Marshall "Loyd" Jester, age 81, of Southside, Alabama passed away on Monday November 11, 2019. The funeral service will be 2pm Saturday at Collier Butler Chapel, with visitation from 12 pm to 2 pm prior to the service. Rev. John Richey will officiate. Collier Butler Funeral Home directing.

Loyd was born in St. Clair County and was a longtime resident of Etowah County. He had provided for his family by working as Sales Manager for Flowers Baking Company and had retired with 47 years of service.

In his younger years, he enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. He had played many local venues and was even known to play and sing for customers and business associates while on his sales route. He was an avid Alabama football fan and Atlanta Braves Supporter.

Loyd was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Faye Shortnacy Jester; daughter-in-law Cullisia Ann Jester; brother John Jester; sister Evelyn Nabors and sister Jean Morgan; parents Marshall and Bertha Jester.

Loyd is survived by; son Ricky (Carolyn) Jester; son Randy (Pam) Jester; son Mike (Rose) Jester; and daughter Sandra (Bryan) Clontz; grandchildren Jeremy (Elizabeth) Jester, Jayson (Ashley) Jester, Jessica Jester, Jonathan Wells, Jered (Ashley) Jester, Kaylee Jester, Coty (Brandy) Clontz, Jessie (Kristen) Clontz, Jake (Maelyn Mickel) Clontz and Zoe Jester; great grandchildren Wyatt Jester, Jackson Jester, Graysen Jester, Donovan Jester, Laken Jester, Wilder Jester, Bryn Jester, Avery Jo McDaniel, Jersie Clontz, Emily Clontz, Rylan Clontz, Talan Bennett, Laken Clontz, Caine Clontz, Bora Clontz, Caleb Jordan, Amiya Reaves, and Sophie Silver; Many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Clark and Frank Meeks.

A burial for Loyd will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Rainbow Memorial Garden, 1440 W Grand Ave, Gadsden, Alabama 35904-8231.
