

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, 2014, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for Margaret "Lucy" Ramsey Harbin, 93, who passed away Monday, March 31, 2014. Bishop Jim Browning, Bro. Charlie walker and Bishop Danny Browning will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Mrs. Harbin will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.Mrs. Harbin was a homemaker who enjoyed canning, quilting, gardening and spending time with her family. She was always helping someone, but never wanted credit or needed recognition; she did it out of the kindness of her heart. She had several callings through her life at her church, where she was very active. She was the oldest member of record in her ward. She also helped raise 26 children as well as raising her own.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lentz Preston Harbin; parents, George and Ida Mae Ramsey; four sisters; four brothers; and stepdaughter, Betty Jo Chastain.She is survived by her daughter, Loretta (Mearl) Burns; grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Walden, Jeff (Jamie) Burns and Jeremy (Candy) Burns; great-grandchildren, Hannah Wilder, Raegan Walden, Eric Waldon, Lentz Burns and Emma Burns; special niece, Kathy Lowe; and special nephew, Ricky Lee.Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews.Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Gadsden Health & Rehab.Special thanks to Dorothy Sue Whitt and Betty Turner for being so good to "Lucy."The family will accept friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
