Margaret Day Reaves

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Forrest Cemetery for Margaret Day Reaves, 85, Gadsden, who passed away Monday, April 25, 2016. Chaplin Fred Wicks will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Margaret graduated from Hokes Bluff High School in 1948 and attended Gadsden Business College for 2 years. She worked several years as the office manager for Associate Jobbers until she retired. She was a member of Hokes Bluff Methodist Church since 1977. She was an avid reader.

Margaret was preceded in death by her cherished husband, James H. Reaves; her father and mother, Carl L. Day, Jr. and Julia Otwell Day;

She leaves behind her son, James Michael (Perri) Reaves; bother, Carl L. “Joe” Day Jr.; grandchildren; Amanda Reaves (Clint) Edenfield of Georgia, and Joshua Paul Reaves and Tara of Ohio; great-grandchildren, Addison and Payton Edenfield of Georgia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Dewey Ryan Sunday School Class of Hokes Bluff Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to The First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff, 3001 Alford Bend Rd, 35903.

There will be no visitation.
