Margie Griffin Hood

Funeral services will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Margie T. Griffin Hood, 90, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Rev. Larry Fuhrman and Rev. Van Lockridge will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.

Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Mrs. Hood was retired from Meadow Gold Dairies and a member of MeadowBrook Baptist Church.

She was a member of Beta Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years.

Mrs. Hood was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Irene Tidmore; husbands, Charles O. Griffin and Denmon Hood; brother, C.B. Tidmore; brothers-in-law, Merrill D. Shipp and Richard Byron Engelman.

She is survived by her daughter, Tirrell Griffin (Ray) Clayton; grandchildren, Kristy Clayton and Darin (Denise) Clayton; great-grandchildren, Ricky Ray Clayton and Madison Clayton; sisters, Lamana Engelman and Mary Nell Shipp; sister-in-law, Willodeen Tidmore; stepchildren, Norma Pannell, Benny Hood and Terry Hood; four step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews; chosen daughter, Linda Howard.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Ray Clayton, Darin Clayton, John Roden, Dantley Coker, Wade Tidmore and Brian Winningham.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Hood and members of Beta Sigma Sorority.

The family extends special thanks to Tina Hinds, Jamie Ledbetter, Gail Roden and Alacare Hospice "Kelly and Elisabeth"

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
