Mark Alan Meier

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mark Alan Meier, 55, of Glencoe, who passed away, Wednesday, July 8, 2015. Rev. Michael Yates will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mark was 23 years in the US Air Force and also 17 years in Law Enforcement in Morgan County, Ohatchee, and Jacksonville State University.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dianne White; brother, John O’Quinn; brother-in-law, Stephen Behel; and much loved step-mother, Greta Meier.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Meier; daughters, Desiree Farr and Amanda Satterfield; son, Bill Satterfield; father, Ted Meier; sister, Leana Behel; brothers, Glen Meier, Ted P. Meier, and Jason Meier; 7 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fraternal Order of Police or the Etowah County Humane Society.

Special thanks to the Glencoe Police Department, the Etowah County Sherriff’s Department, the Hokes Bluff Police Department and his brothers at Jacksonville State University.

The family will accept friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
