Mary Elizabeth Minyard

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mary E. Minyard, 90, of Gadsden, who passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016. The Rev. Rodger Collins will officiate. Burial will be in Forrest Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.Mrs. Minyard was a member of Walnut Park Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy McCullough; grandson, Brian Bannister; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Grimes; and sister, Virginia Turner.Mrs. Minyard is survived by her loving and caring husband of 60 years, Bobby D. Minyard; son, Jim Bannister (Susan); daughter, Lisa Minyard Silvey (Randy); grandsons, Bo Harris, Kelly B. Harris, and John Silvey; granddaughters, Beth Bannister Armstrong (Charles), and Jamie Silvey Steward (Jeremy); eight great grandsons, Ty Harris, Tab Harris, Thad Harris, Eli Harris, Jackson Steward, Jayden Steward, Elliott Armstrong, and Fisher Silvey; one great-great grandson, Tristen Harris; sisters-in-law, Joyce Minyard Stephens (Ken), and Florine Minyard Silvey (Howard); and several nieces and nephews.Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Minyard's grandsons. Flowers will be accepted or monetary and/or food contributions can be made to Palliative Comfort and Care at UAB Hospital, 1713 6th Ave. S, Birmingham, AL 35233.
