Graveside funeral service for Mrs. Mary Ables Shoemaker, 87, of Alabama City, who passed away September 15, 2011, will be 1 PM Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Crestwood Cemetery. Rev. Bob Harris will officiate with Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.
Mary was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County and was a member of Cove Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. “Bill” Shoemaker.
Surviving Mrs. Shoemaker will be her chosen sons, Danny (Frances) Stephens and Jerry W. Stephens; special daughter-in-law, Wanda A. Stephens; 3 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; niece, Marian Ayres; special friends, Helen Bailey, Trudie Poulos, Cindy OGrady, and Linda Ables.
Pallbearers will be Danny Stephens, Jerry W. Stephens, Bill Poulos, Gordon Bailey, Wayne Stephens, and Larry Starling.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Peerman.
