

Funeral Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Dwight Baptist Church for our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Mary Frances Simpson, age 92, Gadsden passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015. Rev. John Templeton will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mrs. Simpson was a native of Georgia and a longtime resident of Gadsden. She was a longtime member of Dwight Baptist Church and through the years was involved with various activities in the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; James Henry Simpson and her parents, George Washington and Grace Lee Washington Martin, brothers, George Washington, Robert Washington, Douglas Martin and Jerry Martin, sisters, Sara Nell Bellamy and Eloise Ware, brothers-in-law she loved so much, Charles and Billy Ray Simpson, sister-in-law, Ruby Jo Bell.
She is survived by her children, James B. (Katie) Simpson and Dennis W. (Jean) Simpson, grandchildren, Melanie (Mike) Nelson, Scott Simpson, Heath Simpson, Heather (Tracy) Hall and Matthew (Allison) Simpson, great grandchildren, Dalton and Madison Nelson, J. T. Simpson, Ashton and Austin Hall, Mattie Grace, Maryn and Major Simpson, sister, Peggy (Jarvis) Ivy, Santa Ynez, California, brother-in-law, Raymond (Becky) Simpson and a host of nieces and nephews whom she adored, The Dwight Baptist Church Family especially Catherine Logan Brown, Betty Brooks and Margaret Cornelius.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of 9th floor South at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, staff at Paden Ridge Assisted Living, Dr. Ralph Wesley and Dr. Olga Bogdanova.
Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of services at the church Sunday.
