Maxine W. Littlejohn

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at Crestwood Cemetery for Maxine Walker Littlejohn, age 87, who passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at her son’s home in Huntsville. Rev. Mark Smith of Attalla First United Methodist Church will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.

Maxine was a longtime member of Attalla First United Methodist Church where she was also a member of the Guild. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross at Riverview Hospital, formerly The Holy Name of Jesus Hospital, where she received several awards in her many years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Kenneth Littlejohn; and brothers, Harold Walker and M.L. Walker of Attalla.

She is survived by her son, Charles Walker Littlejohn and daughter-in-law, Cornelia Burger Littlejohn of Huntsville, AL; grandson, Charles Kenneth Littlejohn, wife, LouAnn and great grandson, David of Brighton, TN; grandson, Stacy Lee Littlejohn, wife, Tina and great grandsons, Jacob and Ethan of Huntsville, AL; sisters, Margaret Yother, Catherine Talley, Sue Cain and Linda Brown all of Gadsden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mike Yother, Lane Talley, Mike Cochran, Jeff Cochran, Robert Lee and David Lee.

Alternate pallbearers will be Charles O’Rear, Fred Anderton, Jason Rogers and Bobby Lankford.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the Alzheimers Association and Heartlite Hospice Care of Huntsville, AL.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
