Mike Teat

Memorial services will be Wednesday, May 9th, 2018, at 4:00 p.m., at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mike Teat, 63, of Glencoe, who passed away Monday, May 7th, 2018, after an extended illness. Rev. Dave Roberts will officiate. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.

Mike was a graduate of Southside High School. He enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, baseball, and spending time with his family and friends. He collected anything to do with ducks, and was a lifelong die hard Alabama football fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and George Morris.

Survivors include his son, Michael (Cathi) Teat; granddaughter, Rylee Hannah; sister, Sharon Tumlin; father, Gerald Teat; uncle, David (Jackie) Tucker; aunt, Ozella Langley; step-sister, Sandra (Bill) Chance; step-brother, Don (Susan) Morris; and many cousins.

The family would like to express a special thanks to McGuffey Healthcare employees for all the love and understanding they have shown Mike over the last six years, Gloria Ansley for sitting with Mike for almost three years and being our friend, Gadsden Regional Medical Center, and a very special thank you filled with love to Betty Shew, our family friend whose love and kindness knows no bounds.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made in Mike’s name to the charity of your choice, the Alzheimer’s Association (alz.org), or to the Etowah County Humane Society.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of service.
