I found this and cried,  you always had a plan . 
You gave me a life I could only dream of.  So much love. I know you loved me unconditionally, how was I so blessed. I thank God for my time with you every day.

Grayson, Macee, & Hannah , all pecks boys, Brandy’s boys they all love you so much . 
In a very short time they learned to love and respect you as you listened to them patiently and took so much time with them. 
Pec and Jeremy  loved you. 
You are so missed by your loving family. 
Your grandson Shawn married the sweet girl Michelle you loved and adored  so much. If only you could have been here to celebrate with them, help them build their beautiful home.

I can’t believe it’s been two long years. I miss you so much. The hurt just doesn’t get better. We were so great together. 
 I saw (3) three  red birds yesterday & today I saw one. 
I know you are looking down telling me not to be a wimp. 
You were my sole mate !!! Thank you for showing me how a man should love a woman. I never dreamed someone would love me so passionately. 
I am so grateful for our 48 years together. 
I was so blessed,  you  took care of me financially, mentally & physically. I never had to worry about anything.

Mic, had just completed a task, in an hour, that should have taken all day.
 Cristi,  called his name and said “well done Pa Pa “ as she snapped this picture. He had the sweetest smile, knowing it was quite an accomplishment.
He was a remarkable man. Always doing something for the family.

Today is your birthday. Happy birthday ! 

I was so blessed to be loved UNCONDITIONALLY for all the years we had. I keep remembering what a wonderful life we had. The two of us, lived, laughed, and still liked each other. 

We didn’t need much, because we had each other and spending time with our family was the highlight of our days! 

You left me in a world I don’t know how to live in, without you. 

You worked so hard every day, keeping our home beautiful and planning our next project.  I’m so sad we can’t grow old together enjoying it. 

I pray everyday to be strong and honor your memory. You were the best, more than I could have ever dreamed! 

I am so glad it wasn’t words, but action that made our love strong. My prayer is that every home our family makes for years will experience the love and happiness we have.

You provided, led us as a godly man, always putting your family first, never ever letting us down, what a legend you leave. 

My prayer is, “God keep  him in your arms until I get there.”

It’s taken me a long time to find the words, and I still can’t explain what you meant to all of us. Pawpaw, you will be dearly missed. You will always be the man I aspire to be, the role model I can only hope to come close to. You are the mentor to my life, and motivator for my career. The hard work you and Mimi put in, to come as far as you both did, is something I pray to replicate for your future great-grandchildren. My confidant, my role model, and the closest thing to a true friend I’ve ever had. 
You were the smartest man I’ve ever known, the most humble, the most giving, yet you were never scared to speak your mind and make sure your opinion was heard. One thing is for sure, you inspired the next generation of men in our family to be the best man, husband, father, and role model we can possibly be. You live forever through us and I promise we will do our best to honor you and your legacy as the man you always will be. We’ll see you soon Paw. 

I still remember when mom and I came and brought Travis and Staci.Mitch played pool with Travis and made such an impression on me and Travis remembered" the man who played pool with me".I know he was probably tired but took time to make a little boy happy.

Mitch, you were one of a kind man. From the very first time I met you I knew after talking to you that you were a special person. You can do anything you set out to do, no matter what it is. And there are not alot of them around. You know that Sybil is going to miss you but just know one day you will be together again. You both were so happy in everything you do together. On their trip to North Georgia with Ronald and Stacey riding the train and everything outside was super close! 

This has taken me a while to even be able to sit down and write this about PawPaw. He has been my stepdad since I was about 4. I am 52 and I want to share a little about who this man was to my mom, for me and her and how much he did for us. 
Mic as my mom called him was my mothers true soulmate and the love of her life. They were always joined at the hip and never a day went by that they were not together. The first time my mom was ever away from him was when her mother (my grandma Chris) passed and the next 8 weeks that my mom spent with me after cancer surgery in December 2010 through Feb 2011. He went to every event in my childhood and loved my mom more than anyone could ever believe. 
But more important than the love they had was the fact that I was not his natural born daughter but he would do anything and everything I ever needed or asked, and for that matter anyone that asked in his family and beyond he was a man of action and few words but he loved to do for, take care of, and protect his family and friends. He was one of the most loyal, and honest men I have ever known. Strongest and hardest working man I’ve ever known. He pushed me hard but always with a whole lotta love behind it and although we were iron sharpening iron we always knew how much we meant to one another. I could just mention needing something done and Paw would come home and start designing it. Mac mentioned in passing wanting a garage and paw had it designed, all the needed measurements, and a supply list before we even knew for sure we wanted to do it. He was so protective of my mom and me and would go to any length to make sure we never did without and that we were always cared for. He didn’t say much, but his actions and never ending servitude to us and our home showed us daily how much he loved us. Oh how I wish I could hug him one more time and thank him for loving us! 

I know Mitch just by seeing him work. He was very proud of all he did for you. He works very hard on all home needs and for loved ones. He talk with love in every word he spoke and just wanted you to know how his love was felt.  Mitch was a very very loving man. So just talk about all the kind words and his love for you.

May you know my thoughts and prayers are always with you. I sure do love this family.
I know you will miss Mitch but you have all
those precious memories. I know you have 
a lot to do. Stay strong my sweet friend.

He was district engineer and often wrote about the happenings within the Department of Transportation in the seven districts surrounding Atlanta in the District Seven Newsletter. 

Papa was such a hardworking man and everyone of my friends that I brought down to his house were always amazed at how much he was able to do. I learned so many things from him and learned that you never give up on anything that you put your mind to in life, anything is possible. I will forever cherish every moment we spent together wether it was working on a project together or just sitting on the back porch having all kinds of funny conversations with many friends and family while eating some good food that he cooked. He was more than just my grandpa he was my best friend.  Being with family and helping family was always his true passion and I think that he lived his life to that standard everyday. Mimi and the family will stay strong because that is what you would want! Until I see you again papa, I love you!

So sorry to hear about Mitchell!! I graduated with him in 1966.  Thoughts,  prayers and love are with you all.
