

Funeral Services will be at 7:00 PM Friday, December 10th at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. L.Q. Holcomb, Attalla, who passed away December 8, 2010 after leading an exemplar life of 96 years of devotion to his Lord, his family, his church, and all who knew him. Rev. Steve Lucy and Rev. Kelton Williams will officiate. Entombment will be at Crestwood Mausoleum. Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 PM Friday, December 10th at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
L.Q. was born and raised in Etowah County. He was a deacon at Ivalee Baptist Church where he once served as minister of music. He was a member of Carnes Recreation Center Senior Citizens. He leaves behind many wonderful friends.
L.Q. is survived by his 4 children, Phyllis Holcomb Gargus (Nathan), Joan Holcomb Brown (Dr. Andrew), Randal Keith Holcomb (Rita), and Richey Vann Holcomb (Debby), 7 grandchildren, Millie Hopper, Eric Gargus (April), Chad Gargus, Daron Walker (Jamie), Darel Walker (Amy), Angie Horton (Jonathon), Kim Owens (Todd), Dane Holcomb (Jennifer), 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Christine Alton. He joins his wife of almost 65 years, Alice Smith Holcomb, 3 sisters, 5 brothers, and his parents, Joel and Millie Holcomb.
Pallbearers will be Daron Walker, Eric Gargus, Darel Walker, Chad Gargus, Dane Holcomb, and Jonathon Horton. Honorary pallbearers are Drs. Andrew Brown, S.P. Sancheti, G. Patel, Robinson, and members of Ivalee Baptist Church. The family would like to thank 7th floor staff of Riverview Regional Medical Center, the Emergency Room, and ICU Unit.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Ivalee Baptist Church or Carnes Recreation Center Senior Citizens Program, 102 Case Ave. Attalla, AL 35954.
