Nancy Bailey Smith

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2016 at Crestwood Cemetery for Nancy Bailey Smith, 75, of Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at McGuffey Healthcare. Dr. Jackie Bentley will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Ms. Smith was a 1958 graduate of Etowah High School, a member of Bellevue Methodist Church, Gadsden, AL and was retired from Bellsouth/ AT&T.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Bertram Nickelson (Edith) Bailey; brother, John H. Bailey; sisters, Peggy Bailey McDowell and Patsy Bailey Spradlin Smith; and nephews, Jeffrey Lynn Bailey and Michael Ray Green.

Ms. Smith is survived by her sister, Linda Bailey Green and her husband, Ray Green; nephews, John William (Melanie) McDowell, and Gregory Ray (Lisa) Green; nieces, Melinda McDowell Calderini, Patti (Jon) Featheringill, and Lisa Spradlin; as well as additional family members and close friends.

Pallbearers will be Ray Green, Greg Green, Johnny McDowell, Jon Featheringill, Jon Featheringill, Jr. , Bill Calderini, and Joel Pruett.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Riverview Regional Medical Center, McGuffey Healthcare, and Gentiva Hospice for the love and care given to our loved one during her battle with Liver Cancer; also, we thank all of the many people who have prayed for Nancy our her family.

There will be no public visitation.
