

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Patricia “Patti” Golden Mayo, age 72, of Gadsden, who passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. Rev. Greg Standridge will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Patti graduated from Emma Sansom High School Class of 1963. She was a military wife who traveled the country for 20 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that was full of life. Patti was often described as happy-go-lucky and she loved her family and friends very much. Her smile was well known to everyone. Patti loved Alabama football and was a Tide Pride member who attended all of the home games with her group “The Bama Bunch.” Her legacy will be the love that she showed to her family, friends, and even strangers.
Patti was preceded in death by her father, Audley C. Golden; father and mother-in-law, Dallas and Ruthie Mayo; brothers-in-law, Bill Morgan, Gordon Snyder, Horace mayo and Jerry Mayo; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Frailey.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard Don Mayo; daughter Joni (Delton) Owen; sons, Keith Mayo and Dallas Craig (April) Mayo; mother, Hilda Golden; sister, Donna Morgan; brother-in-law, Larry Frailey; grandchildren, Jessica and Jake Owen and Mason and Ally Mayo; great-grandchildren, Conner, Krymson and Clayton Owen; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
