Patsy Ann Prickett Harvey (68) went to sleep peacefully to be with the Lord on 10/14/17 after a short illness. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 22, 1949 to the late Leon and Imogene Prickett of Wellington, AL. She was the second of four children born to Leon and Imogene.
Patsy grew up in Wellington and lived there until she married her high school sweetheart in 1968. She attended Alexandria High School and graduated as Valedictorian of her class in 1967. Following graduation she attended Gadsden Technical College and graduated with a Secretarial degree. She worked three years at Fort McClellan until the first of their three children was born. Then she devoted her life to being a homemaker and mother. As Patsy's children were growing up and beginning to leave home she went back to work outside the home. She worked for a short time at Wal-Mart, Alfa Insurance and Gregerson's before becoming office manager/ bookkeeper at Quality Grinding until they closed. She was a Jeweler with Premier Jewelry where she formed many lasting friendships before finally retiring in 2013.
Patsy and Johnny were inseparable. Where you saw one of them you always saw the other. They spent many happy years working around their home together, traveling and spending time with their family. Both were very dedicated lifetime members of Union United Methodist Church in Wellington. Patsy loved the Lord and her church family. She had a beautiful soprano voice and you could hear it every Sunday morning in the church choir and in the church quartet. Additionally, she taught Primary Sunday School when her children were young and Vacation Bible School. Daily devotion was in integral part of her life.
While her years of service in the work force were very rewarding, her most rewarding time was when she was caring for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She always wanted everyone, family and friends, close around. Her house was always a gathering place whether it was lunch after church on Sunday or on holidays. She showed unconditional love to all who knew her. Her house was filled with love, laughter, and happiness.
She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Johnny Harvey; two daughters, Jeanna Agan of Southside, AL Andrea (Alex) Othon of Maple Valley, WA; and one son, Jeff (Leslie) Harvey of Rainbow City, AL; and mother-in-law, Opal "Tiny" Harvey of Gadsden, AL ; two sisters, Peggy (Bob) Rogers of Spring Garden, AL, Linda Prickett of Jacksonville, AL; one brother, Richard (Mona) Prickett of Wellington, AL; six grandchildren, Kara and Abby Agan, John and Emily Harvey, and Alex and Austin Othon.
