
Funeral services for Mr. Perry Williams age 56, of Gadsden, will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. L. Dale Butler will officiate with burial to follow at Old Harmony Cemetery in Rainbow City. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Perry passed away peacefully in his home with his family.
Perry was a 1977 graduate of Boardman High School (Ohio) and attended Kent State University. He was well known and liked for his many years of service at The Courtyard Café. He was a passionate gardener, antique collector and avid reader. Perry volunteered at the Soup Kitchen and various charity organizations.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Williams; step-mother, Jean Ramey Williams; grandparents, Lois Luhrs, John Luhrs and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Pritchett.
Perry is survived by his mother, Nancy Pritchett Beane; sister, Susannah Quigley (Bill) of Michigan; nephews, Nick Quigley and Sean Quigley; niece, Grace Quigley of Michigan; and special friend, Danny Klein.
Pallbearers will be John Downey, Spencer Williams, Chris Pritchett, Jeff Pritchett, Nick Quigley, Sean Quigley and Danny Klein.
The family would like to extend a thank you to all of our special family and friends who offered him comfort and support during his battle with cancer. Also, to the caring nurses and staff at Alacare Hospice.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to The Way of the Cross Soup Kitchen or a charity of choice.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 12, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. until service time at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
