Funeral service for Richard Franklin Chesser Jr., age 89, of Gadsden, will be Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11am, at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Pastor Chad Owens will be officiating. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is directing.
Richard was a native of Folkston, GA and a resident of Etowah County for approximately 70 years. He retired from the Steam Fitters and Welder’s Local after 30 years of service. He was a member of Forrest Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Reba Ware Chesser.
He is survived by his children Carren C. Litteral, Gadsden, Richard A. Chesser, Augusta, GA, Harry (Vicky) Chesser, Gadsden; grandchildren Christy (Micah) Tubb, Gadsden, Richard A. (Meredith) Chesser Jr., Augusta, GA, Stephanie (Matt) Christian, Gadsden, Trint (Keri) Litteral, Gadsden; great-grandchildren Baker Tubb, Bristol Tubb, Miles Mashburn, and Abby Litteral; brother Glynn (Ginger) Chesser; sisters Nelle (Ron) Seenby, Myrtle Koranda, Agnes Jolley.
Pallbearers will be Richard A. Chesser, Richard A. Chesser Jr., Trint Litteral, Byron Townsel, Micah Tubb, and Matt Christian.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Forrest Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
