Richard Lewis Robertson

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church for Richard Lewis Robertson, 90, of Gadsden, who passed away at home Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017. The Rev. Dr. John Reynolds will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.Mr. Robertson was born in Birmingham and was a longtime resident of Etowah County. Mr. Robertson served in the US Merchant Marines and the US Army. He retired from Goodyear after 42 years of service.He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Jane Ellen Robertson; parents, Leon W. and Anna (Fischer) Robertson; brother, James "Jimmy" Robertson; and sister, Ann Karen "Tootsie" Kernodle.Mr. Robertson is survived by his daughters, Susan Robertson, and Nancy Robertson Hanks (David); and several nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be his nephews.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.Special thanks to Amedisys Home Health and Hospice; Laura Pickle, you never missed a Friday; Terry Keenum for going above and beyond for your compassionate care.Family will receive friends at Trinity Lutheran Church 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
