Mr. Richard "Ken" Sherrett

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Richard K. “Ken” Sherrett, age 67, of Southside, who passed away Friday, March 11, 2011. Brother Harold Coe and Rev. Roger Beshears will officiate with burial to follow at Hopewell Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Oneonta. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Mr. Sherrett was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his stepfather and mother, Henry and Norma Luhrs.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Carol Sherrett; daughters, Melissa (David) Niemeyer and Tiffany (Chris) Barnes; step daughters, Charlotte (Gary) Cobb, Donna (James) Johnson, Karen (Bud) Davis and Kelly (Darrell) Evers; four grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, eight great step grandchildren; brothers, John (Sam) Luhrs and Melvin (Karen) Luhrs, Hartsville, TN; sisters, Freida Hawkins and Reba Luhrs, St. Louis, MO; half brother Gerry (Nancy) Sherrett; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Bailey, Darrell Evers, James Johnson, Charles Abercrombie, Steve Steward and Kenneth Bohannon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Leslee Bailey, Gary Cobb, Bud Davis, Jimmy Parr and Joseph Evers.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
