Funeral services will be at Collier-Butler at 2PM , Monday, March 4,2019 for Rita Carr, age 65 who died on 3/1/2019. Rev. Craig Carlisle will officiate. Burial will be at Bank Head Cemetery in Mentone, AL.

Rita Kay Jones Carr, the fourth child of James Thomas and Mary Dallyne Tilley Jones, was born in Fort Payne Alabama on July 10, 1954. She grew up in Mentone Alabama, attended Moon Lake Elementary, Valley Head High and Jacksonville State University.
On March 10, 1973 Rita married her high school sweetheart, Terral Carr and together they pursued careers in nursing, graduating from Jacksonville State University in 1977. After her sons Aaron and Adam were born, she would work part time while homeschooling them.
Rita had a heart for people who hurt that was cultivated during her formative years at Moon Lake Baptist Church in Mentone, Alabama. She touched many lives primarily through deep personal relationships, but also with her volunteer work at Etowah Pregnancy Testing Center, her local church, and during forty years of nursing. Her heart was for others to known the grace and person of Jesus, that had so impacted her life.
She is preceded in death by her father James Thomas Jones, sisters Myra Nell Jones, and Debra Ruth Jones Jackson Dewees
She is survived by husband Terral Carr, sons Aaron Carr(spouse Meredith), Adam Carr (spouse Bentley) and seven grandchildren.
Special Thanks to all the friends and family who sacrificed their time and the numerous healthcare providers who showed such care and compassion for Rita over the past 6 years.
