Ruby Jo Rains

Funeral services will be Wednesday April 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Collier-Butler Chapel for Ruby Jo Rains, 95 of Gadsden, who died Monday April 2, 2012. Rev. Paul McWhorter will officiate with burial in Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services in charge.

Mrs. Rains was a native of Dekalb County but has lived in Etowah County over the past 60 years. She loved to work in her flower garden. She was a lover of books. She was a member of Turkeytown United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Rains was preceded in death by her husband D.N. Rains and a son Rexford West.

She is survived by sons, Joe (Sue) West and Sammy Rains; daughters Randa (Tallent) Baggett, Hope Skelton; Stepson, Danee (Henrietta) Rains. She had 9 Grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Hal West, David West, Robert Skelton Jr., Brian West, Joe Lansdon, and Adam Lansdon.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Turkeytown Methodist Church. Special thanks to Northside Health Care.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler.
