With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sandra (Sandy) Fuhrman, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Sandy, 80, was born on July 3, 1944, and was blessed with a large and loving family who cherished her dearly. Because it was so easy to see that her grandkids were her passion in life, she was known to be everyone's Nana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny and Betty Beene, Gene & Belle Fuhrman, brother Matt Beene, and her son Clay Fuhrman. Sandy leaves behind a devoted husband, Warren Fuhrman, and her loving family: brothers Lee and Steve Beene, children Ginger (Guy) Vickers, Toni McCord, Bart (Andrea) Fuhrman, Garry (Michelle) McBride, and Tammy (Paul) Thornton. She was also the proud grandmother of Mallory (Jimmie) Masters , Luke Mcbride , Robert Mcbride , Caleb (Melissa) Thornton , Abby (Eric) Harrison , Coley Thornton and Alix & Kinsley Fuhrman , and a cherished great grandmother to Jackson, Grayson, Emmy, Arly, Fisher, Kano and Ozzy. She was blessed with her brothers and sisters-in-law: Phillip (Glenda) Fuhrman, Sally (Tommy) Robertson, Susan (Bill) Firestone and Cindy (Glen) Abbott. Sandy's life was enriched by many friendships she held dear: Diane Cantrell, Ann Jaggers, Faye Thompson, Martha Smith, Mary Jackson, Sarah Payne, Pam Weeks, Marilyn Carter and long time hair stylist that she visited every Friday, Donna Smith.
Sandy had a gift for bringing joy to those around her, and she did it best through her love of cooking. She enjoyed preparing meals for the people she loved. She was known for her amazing pecan pies, her candy bar cake, and her fried okra. Her kitchen was not just a place of nourishment, but also a place of ministry, where she shared the love of Jesus through every meal she prepared.
Anyone who knew Sandy knew she was the heart of every gathering- the life of the party, full of laughter, warmth and kindness. She had a way of making people feel special, welcomed and loved. Nana's joyful spirit and unwavering love for others will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
