Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Selena H. Jones, 91, of Southside, who passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Rev. P.J. Moore will officiate. Burial will be at Williams-Southside Memorial Park. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Jacksonville State University with a Masters degree in Secondary Education. She taught in the Gadsden City School System for 32 years. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Jones; and 2 sons, James Edward Jones, and Wayne Allen Jones.
She is survived by her son, John Howard (Susan) Jones; 6 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1885 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Gadsden Health Care.
Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, 2013 prior to the service.
