Sidney Gibson

Chapel service honoring the life of Sidney Ray Gibson, born February 20, 1939, Died June 16, 2010 will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 12:30. Rev. David McBurnett and Rev. David Golden will officiate with burial at Shiloh Baptist Church in Steele, AL.

Mr. Gibson was loved by all who meet him; he was of the Baptist Faith and a member of Water of Life Church in Villa Rica. He was born in St. Clair County he later moved to Georgia in 1966. He worked at Western Union and later retired in 1990 to work construction up until 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Gibson; sons, Ricky, Barry (Patricia), Jerry (sherry) Nance all of Carrollton, GA. 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Barnard (Faye), Paul, Jerry (Brenda), Gordon, Anthony (Sandra) Gibson; sisters, Bobby Gibson, Ruby (Richard) Reynolds, Ann Battles, Judy (Robert) Dodds, also several nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Gibson; mother, Hattie Gibson; sister, Rita Parrish.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 Friday evening at Collier-Butler.
