Thomas Wendell Bolton

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Mr. Thomas Wendell Bolton, age 65, of Ashville, who passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012. Brother Mel Johnson and Brother Richard Bradfield will officiate with burial at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Service directing.

Mr. Bolton was a wonderful husband, father and papaw.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas O. Bolton and Mary Owens Bolton; and special brother-in-law, Jerry Gazaway.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Bolton; children, Michelle (Mike) McCullars, Michael (Tara) Bolton, and Heath (Angela) Bolton; grandchildren, Jason McCullars, Emily McCullars, Matthew Bolton, Chad Bolton, Owen Bolton, John and Kassidy Hollis and Kennedy Brown; great grandchildren, Kaelyn and Jaxon Hollis; sister, Nordine Gazaway; brother, James Weldon (Verndale) Bolton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members.

Pallbearers will be Jason McCullars, Matt Bolton, Chad Bolton, Owen Bolton, Trey Spiller, Gary Staples, Kent Stanford, Steve Bolton, Don Stephens and Tim Carter.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the 5th floor MICU and 6th floor CICU doctors, nurses and staff at St. Vincents East.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
