Mr. Martin was born in Calhoun County on May 17, 1933 to J.D. and Jewell Dickey Martin, who both preceded him in death, as well as, his sister, Pat Burnham. He was co-owner of Martin Foundry Service until his retirement in 2012 and was an avid Alabama Fan.
Mr. Martin was a family man with a great work ethic. His family and career was of most utmost importance to him.
Survivors include his son, Marlon Martin and wife, Kim, Rainbow City; grandchildren, Heather (Taylor) Villarreal, Shreveport, LA; Whitney Lipscomb, Gadsden and Alexandra (Ryan) DeLoach, Athens, TN; grandchildren, Riley Johnson; Olivia Lipscomb; Madeline DeLoach and Zeppelin DeLoach; sisters, Ruby Harden; Doris Harrelson; special co- worker and friend, Patsy Brown and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the Nurses and Staff with Encompass Hospice; Blessed Care and staff including Jana Gilbert; Samantha and Ashton; Dr. and Friend Gary Kwan.
Private family services are planned. There will be no visitation.
