Vicky Lynn Martin

Vicky was a graduate of Coosa High School in Rome, Georgia. After high school, she worked as a hair dresser for several years before pursuing her true calling- working as a paraprofessional and helping students in Special Education at Gaston School and Highland Elementary School. She did this for many years before retiring in 2020.

Vicky is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Randolph McCain Sr and Carol Jean McCain. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Josh (Kristen) Allen, Jordan (Jade) McCartney; grandchildren, Laney Allen, Jalyn Allen, Coley Allen, Ellorie McCartney; brother, Randy McCain; sisters, Lisa (Shane) McCartney, Rhiannon McCain, Jennifer McCain-Benefield; niece Haley Brooke (Andrew) Johnson; nephews, Chris (Stephanie) McCain, Caleb Gilmore; great-nieces and nephews, Isaac McCain, Esme McCain, Blaire Johnson; and significant other, Donnie Wilson.

Vicky enjoyed spending quality time with her family, relaxing at the lake, watching Braves baseball, rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs, taking family vacations to Gatlinburg or Disney World, providing extra math tutoring for her students, and sharing her faith with everyone she met.

Vicky’s 3 year battle with cancer has finally come to an end, but Vicky would want all of her friends and family to know that cancer did not win- she did. She is resting in the arms of Jesus, and that is the ultimate reward for a life well-lived. Vicky will be best remembered for loving others in the way that Christ would have us do. She had a positive and lasting impact on everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She will be greatly missed.
