Violette Lee Copeland

The only child of Violet and Quincy Lee Buckner, she was born and raised in Birmingham, graduating from Woodlawn High School. Following her marriage to Dan Everett Copeland, she resided in Gadsden, where she was a loving wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents Violet and Quincy Lee Buckner, and beloved aunts Hazel Bramlett, Vivian Allen, Dot Henderson, Zella Tolbert, Ruby Buckner, and Levinia Webb.

She is survived by her husband of sixty one years, Dan, her son Dan and daughter in law Wanda.

Violette was an active member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She and Dan enjoyed traveling to Europe and China. They looked forward to an annual trip to Gatlinburg, with lifelong friends Carolyn and Bill Morris. She treasured her friendships with the members of her birthday club.

Pallbearers will be Whit Torbert, Jim Copeland, Tim Copeland, Danny Chesnut, Bart Copeland, and Bill Russell.

The family will receive friends at Collier Butler Funeral Home at 11:30 Thursday, January 21, 2016, preceding the service at 12:30. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery.
