Wanda Hankins Logan

Going home celebraion will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Wanda Hankins Logan, of Attalla, AL who passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 surrounded by those who loved her. Blake Jones, minister will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Mrs. Wanda was a graduate of Lamar County High School Class of 1950. She and her husband, and children traveled and lived in many communities, from California to Florida. IN 1978 she and her family settled in Scottsboro, AL where she was an active member of the Broad Street Church of Christ, and worked for Scottsboro High School. In 1991 she and her husband retired to Attalla where she worked part time for the Attalla School System and became a devoted member of the Rainbow Church of Christ.

Mrs. Wanda was born on May 1, 1932 in Vernon, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Murray and Susie Belle Hankins of Vernon, in-laws, Louie and Vela Logan of Attalla, sisters, Kate Johnson of Birmingham, Alma Russell of Columbus, MS, brother-in-law, Julian Logan, Tuscon, AZ and her husband, the love of her life, Edwin Logan of Attalla.

She is survived by her children, Suzi (Pat) Morgan, Julian “Buddy” (Polly) Logan, David (Rose) Logan, Amy (Steve) Castleman, grandchildren, Matthew Morgan, Jonathan (Brittany) Morgan, Sarah Logan, Rachel Logan, Rebecca Logan, Pfc. Edwin Logan, Jennifer (Mike) Roddy, Sam Logan, Luke Logan, Emily Castleman, Erin Castleman, Elyse Castleman, her precious great grandchildren, Lylah, Karma, Kylee, Klohe and Braxton, sister-in-law, Lee Logan Keaton and many nieces, nephews and many many friends.

Her family wishes to express their gratitude for all the love and concern shown their precious mother and to the wonderful doctors and nurses in the neurological ICU at UAB Hospital.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Rainbow Omega of Eastaboga, AL.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
